Norfolk Sothern’s Asset Disposition group manages surplus equipment and scrap auction sales. 

To participate in future auctions customers will need to complete the Registration Form.  Upon receipt of the registration form our Asset Disposition team add you to the bidding list.  When bidding events are created by the Asset Disposition team you will receive an email with instructions to create or connect your Ariba account and that account will be used to log in and submit bids.  


Bidding Agreement

Customers must review and accept the bidding agreement in the Ariba application through your supplier log in to view auction items and submit bids.

Sales Order Terms & Conditions

Upon winning an auction, the Asset Disposition group will issue a Sales Order for the items won. Winning bidders are required to pay in full in advance or provide an NS-approved irrevocable Letter of Credit before items will be released for pick-up.

Right of Entry

Customers will be required to sign an “Indemnification Agreement and Right of Entry” request form to access railroad property, to preview items for sale at auction or to pick up items sold.
