Service Alert - Flooding in Hannibal, MO

ATLANTA, GA

As an update to the expected flooding of the Mississippi River in Hannibal, MO affecting Norfolk Southern’s route between Kansas City, MO and Decatur, IL.  Updated hydrology reports now project water levels to reach flood stage in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 7th 24 hours later than the original projection.  Norfolk Southern is projected to cease operations over this line the evening of Saturday, July 6th but will detour traffic via St. Louis, MO during this time.  The duration of this event is expected to be 4-5 days.  Customers could experience a 24-36 hour delay to their traffic.
