NS team delivers one million man-hours injury free

While much of the country was winding down for the holidays, our team of dedicated railroaders kept our focus on safety in full throttle as we handled increased Peak Season volumes, winter weather challenges, and the inherent risks that come during this time of year.
As usual, Team NS was up to the challenge. From just before Christmas through the first week of the new year, all 20,000 members of the NS team across 22 states worked more than one million man-hours without a single injury. During one of the busiest and demanding times of the year, our railroaders operated safely and efficiently.
“This is truly a remarkable achievement and serves as another strong sign of the momentum we’re building together with safety as our core value,” said Chief Safety Officer John Fleps. “This tremendous accomplishment is a result of our shared commitment to safety each and every day, looking out for one other, and speaking up any time we’re unsure or have a concern. Every decision we make at NS is guided through the lens of safety, and it’s the foundation for the operational excellence our outstanding team strives to deliver around the clock.”
Thanks to all our dedicated railroaders who keep the economy moving safely and efficiently.
