Thoroughbred Sustainability Partner Award winners honored in Atlanta
Leading innovators from across the business world gathered at Norfolk Southern’s Atlanta headquarters on Feb. 2 to be honored for building a greener supply chain at the railroad’s fourth annual Thoroughbred Sustainability Partner Awards.
Why it matters: Rail is the most sustainable way to move freight over land, and this year’s customers and suppliers exemplify how environmental responsibility and business performance go hand in hand, showing that communities, customers, and the planet can benefit simultaneously.
This year’s honorees:
- Energy Efficiency Award: Cemex, Eco Material Technologies, Fastenal Company, Wabtec Corporation
- Innovation Award: Eco-Energy Global Biofuels, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Loram Maintenance of Way, Outokumpu Stainless USA, Phillips 66, Schneider, Wabtec
- Environmental Stewardship Award: Darling Ingredients, Eco Material Technologies, Hub Group, NARSTCO
Big picture: Over the past four years, Norfolk Southern has recognized 38 different customers and suppliers. This year’s recipients were selected after a review of their 2025 sustainability achievements, focusing on uniqueness, relevance, and impact. From cutting-edge technologies to bold environmental programs, each honoree supports sustainable rail and demonstrated leadership that aligns with Norfolk Southern’s vision for a low-carbon future.
What we’re saying:
“Thoroughbred Sustainability Partners are raising the bar for what a more sustainable supply chain can look like. Their commitment strengthens the work we’re doing together and helps move the entire freight ecosystem forward.” — Josh Raglin, NS Chief Sustainability Officer
