As a member of our train crew and dispatcher team, you will have a valuable role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains, moving goods across the nation, and helping keep America’s supply chain running smoothly. In these roles you have the ability to problem solve, be independent in your work, and be well-compensated with great long-term earning potential, and long-term financial security.

Interested in a job that gives you autonomy and allows you to see the country that you’re serving day in and day out, with no experience required? When you become a conductor, we’ll teach you the railroad with our paid training program and provide a highly competitive level of compensation. Conductors work in a mostly outdoor setting supporting our 24/7 operations that can require working nights and weekends. Opportunities are available across our 22-state network.

NS dispatchers are responsible for moving and monitoring our trains for eight-hour shifts from our 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC). We’ll train you on the railroad and the latest technologies to communicate with our trains, to help us move America’s economy, safely. The NOC is located in our Atlanta HQ, where you’ll have access to a full-service gym, on-site daycare, and multiple dining options, as you play a critical role in our railroad.
