NS leaders host Safety Summit
At NS, we make every decision through the lens of Safety, our core value. From Safety Camps investing in the development of our managers and their teams to Safety Summits bringing together senior leaders, we are aligned and committed to providing the tools and support needed for success.
Last week, more than 60 leaders – including members of our executive team – from every division gathered in our Atlanta HQ for our most recent Safety Summit.
Goals
- Ensure we’re all on the same page, fully aligned, and pulling together
- Drive accountability against pre-established action plans
- Learn from each other
- Deliver continuous improvement
Themes
- Speak up – we’re better together
- We have tangible momentum
- There’s more to do
Key Takeaways
- Early involvement: Safety is a value and part of operational planning, not a reaction to outcomes
- Identify blind spots: Reinforce humility and vigilance at the leadership level
- Leverage skill, technology, and accountability: Enhance awareness and drive safe behavior with every member of our team
- Cultural transformation: Across the network, teams are buying in and working together to improve performance
